Splashing and Snowcones

This morning we got out our slip and slide and a sprinkler that the kiddos got for their birthday. They had lots of fun playing in the water. Hubs had fun laughing at my head first slides. It's still fun in your thirties :)

After playing in the water, Hubs made us all Snowcones. Yum! The kiddos both went back for a refill.

You know you are a little bit crazy if...

You can't enjoy the movie on a date night with your husband because you think someone might blow the theater up. Seriously, I'm that crazy. But, those thoughts weren't unprovoked. There was a guy by himself in front of us to buy a ticket (just one ticket). There is absolutely nothing wrong with going to the movies by yourself, but this was his conversation with the ticket lady:
Guy: Do you take American Express?
Ticket Lady: Yes
Guy: Then I'll take one ticket to the next movie.
Ticket Lady: There are 27 theaters here, which movie do you want to see?
Guy: Whichever starts next

What? So I was freaked out for the first half of the movie thinking he was up to something. I did enjoy date night. But, I called my aunt and uncle just to make sure they knew where the kids were in the event that this theater didn't make it.
As far as the movie, we saw The Happening. It was a little scary for my liking, it was hubs' pick. I don't like movies that are scary in a way that could really happen. It freaks me out, and as you know, I was already a little freaked out :)
On a side note, there will be no cute kiddo pictures until I remember to go save all my pictures on CD because all of my memory cards are full.

The Big Day

Saturday was the big wedding day. My sister spent the night with us at my mom's house. Mom cooked us a big breakfast then it was off to get our hair and make up done. My sister's hair was really cute. Neither of us liked our make up. We both went home and washed it off and started over. Mine looked like someone had punched me in the face, seriously. Then we made the drive to the winery in Indiana where the wedding was taking place. We were running late, so it was rush rush rush until the pictures started. As we were taking the first pictures we were trying to ignore, or really get my sister to ignore, the enormous dark clouds that were rolling in. At the start of the wedding it was still not raining. The entire bridal party walked down the aisle and just as the little flower girls were making their way down to the gazebo the bottom dropped out. It started pouring complete with thunder and lightening and everything. So we all ran inside and reassembled ourselves on the dance floor. My sister was upset that it had to be moved inside. She did get to make a grand entrance and looked just as beautiful as she would of outside. C did a perfect job protecting the rings. AP made it down the aisle twice! once outside and then again inside. During the ceremony, however, she wandered around between bridesmaids and even hugged the preacher's leg at one point! Oh well... The reception was so much fun that I don't think anyone cared by the end of the night about the rain. It was a beautiful, fun wedding. (she's drinking water) My sister and her husband are probably sipping pina coladas about now on the beach :)

The Trial

Last night was the rehearsal dinner for the wedding, also known as "the trial" (that's what my sister and I heard the groom call it). The dinner was at the winery where the wedding will be tomorrow. C did a perfect job practicing to be the ring bearer. AP, on the other hand, may or may not make it down the aisle with her flower girl basket. During the last run through she threw the basket and run up to the front where I was standing. I guess that's what makes it so cute, there are 4 kiddos in the wedding and there is no telling what they are going to do.

Not My Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Cincy Zoo with my sister and Baby S. C kept making comparisons to "my zoo" while we were there. There were lots of animals that we don't have in Nashville, like polar bears, rhinos, lemurs, and spectacled bears. They also have a new giraffe observing deck that puts you at head level with the giraffes and you are supposed to be able to feed them out of your hand, but the giraffes had no interest in coming anywhere near that deck full of loud kiddos. We were able to circle the zoo and see everything in under three hours (and get back to the car right before it started raining).

Cornholes and Cones

Tonight was full of firsts. We were introduced to cornholing, which is apparently very popular up north and not so much in the south. It is a a close cousin to a bean bag toss.AP had her first ice cream cone tonight, too. She was way into it. (Notice the nice booboo on her forehead just in time for the wedding) Baby S was loving some ice cream, too.

Bridesmaids and Bachelorettes

Yesterday was a full day of fun for the bridesmaids in my sister's wedding. We started out with horseback riding in the morning. I must admit that it was a little scary at first. My horse decided that his back was itching and proceeded to lay down and roll over with me on it! He took good care of me for the rest of the ride though. It was exciting. Here the beautiful bride with her horse.
After the horseback riding, it was time for the Bridesmaids Luncheon. Of course we couldn't resist matching dresses :)
Then later it was on to the adult only bachelorette celebration. There was much fun had by all.
Tonight the kiddos and I went with Nanna to a little carnival sponsored by the Catholic parish near her house. It always amazes me how much money can be spent at those things. I'm sure the kiddos would say it was well worth it.
