Wish That I Was On Ole Rocky Top

In my mind it feels like fall is finally getting here. Outside it feels like a sauna, though. Today was the first home game for the Big Orange. This is our 2nd year to have season tickets to the games. I didn't go today because of a prior engagement, but Hubs went and it was a victory for the Vols! The kiddos and I cheered from home.

There are other signs of fall around our house, too. I love fall decorations. I still have some packed somewhere from when we moved and I need to go digging around in closets to find them.

And lastly, hubs and I have a date tonight! It has been quite a while. We are going to hear Boompa's (my dad) band play downtown. Should be a fun time.

Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies...

grow up to be cowboys! Don't let em play guitars and drive them old trucks. Let em be doctors and lawyers and suuuuch.

That song has been going through my head all morning! If you don't know the song, you are not really missing anything. C is dressed up for cowboy/girl day at his school today. His teachers are going to have fun wrangling cowboys all day!

With Time To Spare!

Anyone who knows our family well knows that we are typically running a few minutes behind. This is why I was completely surprised tonight when the kiddos and I found ourselves ready to leave the house for church about 45 minutes early! I don't know how it happened, but we had all eaten dinner, brushed our teeth, cleaned our faces, and put on our Awana gear way too early. So we decided to take advantage of that extra time that was given to us and go to our local greenway. C had fun riding his scooter. AP started out on her little "bike", but ditched in just a few feet into our walk. She enjoyed exploring nature. It was a refreshing little walk and we still made it to church with a few minutes to spare!

No Wonder

No wonder those clothes took so long to dry!
Actually, AP just climbed in after she finished helping me take the clothes out. She loves being a little helper. One thing that I have learned recently is that a bored kiddo leads to a kiddo that finds herself/himself doing something they shouldn't do (like write on the walls or take all the clothes out the dresser). As long as AP can be involved in what I am doing, even if that means working, she is a happy girl! C likes having "jobs" to do as well, I just didn't get a picture of it!

It's About Time, Right?

We finally had AP's baby dedication today. It only took us over a year and a half! Our church does dedications in groups a couple times a year. It just so happens that we have been out of town for the last two and then one got cancelled. So today we pledged in front of our church family to raise our pumpkin in a Christian home. It's more just an outward sign of a commitment that we made before we ever even had kiddos. AP's favorite part was receiving her rose. She kept saying "MY flower" really loud during the everyone else's turn. Thanks Aunt K for coming and taking pictures.
