APs first gameball!

Last Thursday night AP got her first gameball. She has really improved her hitting! According to her, she was "hitting it like a 6 year old".

Birthday yeehaw- iPhone edition

After APs school party for her birthday, we stopped by to show Ms Penny her birthday dress. Ms Penny makes so many of APs cute clothes. Then it was home to try out her new birthday bike. That night we went to Logan's because AP wanted to "throw peanuts on the floor". They also give you a big "yeehaw!" when it's your birthday. I think it's safe to say AP had a fun-filled birthday!

Pumpkin turns SIX!

Yes, my baby is six....How that happened, I'm not so sure! She is becoming such a delightful, inquisitive, caring, honest, and fun-to-be-around little girl! She tells it like it is, even when you don't want to hear it, and I love that about her. She has worked out some bossy tendencies this year and is doing wonderfully at school. Although, I'm sure she still thinks she could run the class on her own. She is not lacking one bit in self confidence :)

We woke her up bright and early singing to her and candles afire on her pancakes. She said "What is happening?" She was so sleepy, having to be at school by 7 is tough, believe me!
She tried out her new birthday bike super quick before breakfast.

We also got her this one shirt that she has been asking for repeatedly. She was so excited she wanted me to take a picture of the shirt and not her :)

Ready for school in her birthday outfit!

Y
Yesterday afternoon I took cupcakes to her classroom. Here she is with her good friends,

and another sweet friend :)

and yet another sweet friend!
When it's your birthday the class circles around you and sings a song about making you a cake.

And that was just the first half of her birthday! I only had my phone with me the rest of the day. Stay tuned...

Hoppy Easter

My kids can't keep their eyes open when a camera flashes to save their lives!
Here they are with their Easter baskets. The Easter bunny went practical on them and left their treats in storage bins that match their rooms :)

These boys were glad that the big bunny skipped the candy and stuffed animals and left a Smackdown wrestling ring instead!

It was a beautiful day. Nanna was here visiting and went to church with us. I enjoyed teaching our 2nd/3rd grade class about Easter and how the entire Bible beginning from Genesis points to Easter. I also made fruity pebble treats to share with our class, thanks to Pinterest :)
Pinterest was also the inspiration for the caramel apple trifle I made later in the day for our family dinner. I think I'll go have some leftover trifle now :)

Karate Kid Goes Gold

It's been almost 2 weeks ago, but C finally tested for his gold belt in karate! We weren't sure what to expect. And I think we held our breath the entire time. C had to count to 10 in Japanese, tie his belt correctly by himself (and believe me, this is not easy, we had to watch several youtube videos to figure this out), answer several questions about identifying parts of karate in Japanese, and then run his first kata.

And he passed!!

Then in his next class he had his belt ceremony and was presented with his gold belt.

Here he is taking off his white belt and folding it correctly to hand to her. He took forever to fold his belt!

Receiving the gold belt

and being presented to his class.

Now onto the hard stuff! Everybody down for push ups!
