Yesterday morning we woke up to temps predicted to be in the 80's, instead of the 100's that we have been sweltering in, so we decided it was a perfect day for a hike. We met up with friends and hiked Radnor Lake. It is so so pretty there. Every time I'm there I wonder why I don't go more often. The kiddos rocked 3 miles like it was nothing, and of course I took pictures all along the way :)
We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time & miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands. ~Kristi Larson~

InstaFriday {school delay}
I'm sharing pictures from my phone that I've taken throughout this week that both flew by and inched along all at the same time. We have been entertaining ourselves this week swimming, playing with friends, hiking, trying new recipes, going to Chuck E Cheese,and NOT going to school. Our county commissioners and our school board cannot come to an agreement over the school system's budget. So, in the meantime there is no school! We should have started this past Monday. So while the kids are rejoicing, I'm just hoping an agreement is reached soon without losing teachers and losing all our school breaks!
Monday morning found us in our pj's playing Candyland, rather than braving the carpool lines.
I tried a new peach cobbler recipe. I wish there was still a little left!
We met friends at one of my least favorite places that is actually not too bad mid-week at midday. I must have successfully avoided it for a while because when we pulled up C said, "this is a rare surprise!"
We loved swimming with our friends this week, too!

Backing Up- Parthenon Picnic
We made a trip to Centennial Park to have a picnic and explore the Parthenon, oh, about 9 weeks ago :) This was the very first week of summer break and I just ran across the pictures today. It was a beautiful day for a picnic and we had such a fun time just walking around and exploring together.
We had a friend from church that was in Greece at the time and had just been to the real Parthenon. So the kiddos thought it was extra special to visit our city's replica.
ATL 12
Two weekends ago, our family headed to Atlanta for the weekend.
On our way, we ran into a shut down interstate due to a motorcycle accident. Nanna kept us entertained during the delay by getting out and running around the car :)
Once we got to Atlanta and got settled into our hotel, it was time to pile back in the car to head to the Braves game. We decided it would be easier to stay together and find parking if we all went in the same car. Don't worry, the kids were safely buckled in their car seats, but 4 of us were in the trunk area!!
And we all made it to Turner Field safely :)
The Braves beat the Phillies, 7-2, I think...
Then Saturday morning we all piled back in to go spend the day at Six Flags!
Both kiddos braved some of the biggest roller coasters there! Our favorite was The Mind Bender! The kids loved going upside down!
Like Father, Like Son. I thought it was cute that they were sitting just alike :)
(although, this is actually C being upset that he is too tall for some of the kiddie rides that his sister can still ride, like the one above)
AP taking a break and riding on Nanna's Jazzy.
It was a long, hot, day, but we had lots of fun. We still didn't get to do half of the things at Six Flags. We overheard an employee explaining that there were record crowds there that day. Next time we'll try to go in the middle of the week.
That night it was close to midnight when I snapped this picture of my kiddos still jumping on the bed. It took forever for them to settle down!
We couldn't leave Sunday without a quick stop for breakfast and IKEA :)

Hello, Monday {Goodbye, Weekend}
Goodbye, wonderful weekend spent with friends. We had a blast.
Hello, incessant requests from a certain 6 year old that we adopt a baby boy.
"I'm going to pray every night for that and you pray, too, ok, Mom?"
Hello, Monday morning that should have been our first day of school. Budget stand offs in our county have led to an indefinite delay.
Hello, first fall ball practice this week for the Red Hots!!
Hello, unstuck Acadia thanks to my cousin who drug us out of the mud.
And hello, admitting just once that I should have listened to my husband about turning down that gravel road.
Hello, little muddy dog that started your Monday with a bright and early mud fest. Looks like dog baths are on our agenda for the day!
I'm linking up with Lisa Leonard for Hello, Monday!
