great dads

I am so blessed to have such a great dad. A lot of people say I have his laid back personality and that we look alike and that's a compliment to me! I also have the privilege of watching my kiddos as they grow up with a great dad, too. I think Hubs favorite thing to do is watch C play ball and AP play dress up. He does such a great job of working hard to support our family!

Tonight we met Boompa and Baba for dinner to celebrate these 2 great dads.C took a pic of me and my dad :)

If he weren't 10+ hours away we would've had Hubs' dad there to celebrate with us as well. Happy Fathers Day to you, too, Daddy Bob!

Friday we met up with our adventuresome friends and drove about an hour north to Dinosaur World in Cave City, KY. We pass the big dino that stands by the interstate every time we drive up to Ohio so it was about time we actually stopped to see what it was all about.

As soon as we got there C posed himself and said "mom, take my picture!" That's my boy. All of our friends posed in front of a dino bone.

C loves that his little friend hasn't moved to Texas yet. They are waiting for their house to sell. Here they were pretending to be horses :)

Our last stop was to excavate dinosaur bones.

It was even hotter than it was outside in the area where the excavation was happening. AP asked if she put the water bottle on her brain would it make her think she was cooler?! That's thinking!

We stopped on the way home at Cheney's Dairy Barn somewhere near Bowling Green. They had really good ice cream and sold other dairyish stuff, too. We saw that they have a schedule for farm tours and hope to go back this summer to check that out!

fountain of youths

Yesterday afternoon after the kiddos endured running errands with me we treated ourselves to a picnic and a little playing in the fountains. It has been sooooo hot here for the last few days that I'm sure it felt good to cool off in the water.This next picture cracks me up, I wish it had audio. AP sat right on top of the fountain that C was using to fill up his bucket. He is telling her that if she doesn't get up that he is going to go underground and turn these fountains off!

Before we left we stopped by Candylicious to get a Slush Puppie. I was so excited to see that they have them there! I grew up getting slush puppies from the market at the end of our street. Since then they have become harder and harder to find. My friends and my husband all prefer Icees, not me, I'm a slush puppie fan through and through.

C loved his. A was not a fan because of the "ice dots in her mouth" and I got horrible brain freeze! Is that another sign of getting old?

We've already had a busy fun-filled first few weeks of summer. And I've been having so much fun that I haven't taken pictures! We finished up VBS last week and then last Thursday and Friday Hubs and I went to the CMA fest. We saw too many artists to list, but my personal favorites were Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, and Miranda Lambert. We stayed up way too late those 2 nights and paid for it for several days! We've also been swimming with friends several times. And I haven't taken a single picture of any of it!

However, I did get a picture of my little tomboy that caught 2 frogs last weekend. She gave one to her brother who wasn't about to try to catch it! Yes, she has a little frog in those tiny hands. Guess what she named the frog? If you've been around her recently then you know that she has named everything Erin Elizabeth since this little one was born.

So now the real EE has a namesake that's a frog! Well, except for that AP loved her frog a little too much and he has gone to heaven :(
