The Fourth

We had a busy and fun-filled fourth of July!  We started the day with a yummy pancake breakfast at Boompa and Baba's house.  Baba's dad (the Colonel) had requested homemade buttermilk pancakes.  I'll be honest, they put my Aunt Jemima pancakes to shame.

Then we went for a swim with Boompa and Baba.

Then that afternoon we met up with cousins and aunt to ride their boat down to the river to watch Nashville's firework display.

We had an awesome view and Nashville's fireworks did not disappoint!

Pizza and Crabs

Friday night in Topsail after spending the day surfing with cousins we all went out for pizza and then to a Ghost Crab Monitoring Class offered by Ecological Marine Adventures in Topsail.  It was a lot of fun!  They learned what a ghost crab is, the right way to catch them, all about their eyes and pinchers, how they dig their holes, how you can tell the difference between a girl crab and a boy crab, and they got to run on the beach and catch crabs!

The big boys were telling us how many they caught :)

Surfing with Cousins- Topsail Island, NC 12

The last 2 days that we were in Topsail, Hubs' sister and family joined us!  The kiddos had so much fun playing with the 3 B boy cousins.
