How is it that my baby is FIVE?

Yesterday my baby girl turned...gulp...five. That just sounds so much older than four!

It was a school morning, so we were up bright and early. Note C's yawn ;) (and the fact that it is still very dark outside!)
We all went into her room to wake her up singing "Happy Birthday"

It may have been her birthday, but that didn't mean she wanted to be awake!

She quickly woke up enough to check out her presents.

What's that? A dog bed?

Yes, we have lost our minds, but AP and C are looking at pictures of the new puppy that will be joining our family on Good Friday.

I joined AP's class later that day at lunchtime. AP set up all the plates and treats for her little party.

She pointed out her birthday on the calendar.

Everybody's ready for sugary sweets!

Last night C was supposed to have baseball pictures and a game, so we didn't have any other celebrations planned. However, it was storming and all baseball plans were canceled so we stopped by the store and AP picked out this little puppy cake.

I am so very thankful for my spunky, passionate, feisty, determined, intelligent, creative, independent, inquisitive, nurturing, and loving little social butterfly!!

i just wish weekends were longer

We have had another jam-packed weekend full of ballgames, beautiful weather, bounce houses, and blessings!


Friday night C's team played the late game. C showed me his "game face" before we left the house :) His team went on to win 17-0!Early Saturday morning we headed to our city park for the 3rd Annual Run for Haiti's Hope and Festival.

There were bouncies set up at the festival. This is AP going backwards and head first....but not letting go of her baby!

After the festival it was time to take our youngest dachshund back to the vet. I don't think I mentioned it here, but he was diagnosed with diabetes a week ago :( We tried giving him diabetic food all last week, but after checking his blood sugar again this weekend, it's going to require more treatment than that. He goes back to the vet Monday for an all day glucose monitoring and we start insulin injections then.

Saturday afternoon C had another ballgame and by the end of that game all four of us were completely worn out!! We picked up a pizza, headed home, and all had our pj's on before the sun went down!


This morning the kiddos were looking super cute so I snapped a few pics before church.
And right now, this is what is going on next to me. There's nothing better than a Sunday afternoon nap in your daddy's lap.Tomorrow is AP's birthday and oh the surprises we have in store for her!

Keep Your Eye on the Ball

LOVE this weather! We have been outside every chance we can get.

There was some debate over whether C had his eyes open when he was swinging his bat during the last game.

I think these pictures prove his eye is most definitely on that ball!

Women Gone Wildhorse

Several weeks ago my girlfriends and I cut loose and went line dancing. On a school night!I had forgotten about it until I found these pictures on my camera.

Good times.

Great friends.

Banquet, Fun Run, Parade, Opening Day. What a week!

Monday night was the Blue and Gold Banquet for C's pack. His Tiger troop presented the flags. That's C putting the flag into the flagstand. He took his job very seriously!

He received 3 belt loops and a pin that he had earned. They were bowling, roller skating, and baseball.

There was a meal for all the scouts and their families afterwards.

Thursday was the Boosterthon Fun Run at C's school. C called family and friends and asked them to sponsor him per lap.

He ran 38 laps without stopping!

While we were looking at these pictures tonight, C said "Man, I was hot and tired!"

Friday night was the Opening Night Ceremony for our local Dixie Youth League. Our park has new fields this year, so it was grand opening for the fields, too.

This was the first year that all the teams walked in a parade from a nearby school into the park. All the supporters lined the streets. Note these cute little supporters :)

They introduced every player in the league. C is on the right, #18, about to run through and high five the other players.

Then Saturday morning I headed back to the park with these cuties to supervise the bounce houses for a few hours.

Then Saturday afternoon, it was times for the first official game of the season!! C was in a batting slump (can you have a slump before the season starts?), but our team won 14-7. Go Sounds!
