InstaFriday

Sharing snippets of life captured on my phone over the last week...

We had our annual well visits to our pediatrician.  It seems this is the only time we see her and we are so thankful for that!
And since I don't record it anywhere else, I might as well record their yearly stats here:
C weighed in at a whopping 54lbs (10th percentile), and stands tall at 54"(around the 85th percentile).
AP weighed 41lbs (25th percentile) and is 45" tall (25th percentile).

Clean bills of health across the board!

Last night was Buddy Night in C's karate class.  They both look forward to this night because that means AP gets to go with him.  They had a great time and it was good for C to actually be the boss of AP for a change and show her how to do things :)

After karate we met Daddy at work and went downtown to watch the Nashville Sounds play baseball.

One of his coworkers has a baby, so of course that's where AP spent her time.  She fed Lucy her Dippin Dots and carried her around on her hip.

Then this morning, the kiddos got up excited to wear their UT orange!  The Vols play their first football game of the season tonight.  As we were scrambling around to get out the door, AP brought me this "artwork" that she had made yesterday at school :)

We are looking forward to watching the game with friends tonight and enjoying a long weekend with very few plans!

Celebrating Babies

Sunday night I went out with my best girls from church to celebrate Baby Bennett that will be here in a few weeks. This will be my friend's second boy so we met at a restaurant for a "sprinkle" rather than have a big shower. We also found out while we were there that one of our friends just found out she's having a baby!  Such exciting news!

Also exciting is this nutella and banana panini sprinkled with cinnamon and a side of chocolate dipping sauce.  Oh. my. goodness.  This was soooo good.

My friend had a hard time deciding on a dessert so the waiter came up with his own creation :)

Then yesterday we went to the hospital to visit our good friend Amanda and her brand new baby boy!

He was oh so sweet and cuddly, not that I got to hold him much, AP is a baby hog!!

National Dog Day

So I read that today is National Dog Day.
We sure do love our dogs around here!

Our ever-lazy, stubborn, lap-lover...

...and our super patient, high-jumping, affectionate, ball of energy.

First Day of First and Third!

Today is actually their 4th day of school, but I realized I never posted pics from the first day!

My kiddos look sleepy to me!  There is just no easy way to ease into the school starts at 7am routine.  No amount of going to bed early can prepare for that super early morning!

We are super excited about both kids' teachers.  I think they are going to have a great year!

SUPER party

Friday after the school, the kiddos and I, plus Nanna and Aunt K, headed out on another road trip!  This time to Ohio for my nephew's 3rd birthday.

My sister just, as in the day before we got there, bought a new house.  My nephew really wanted to have his party at his new house.  So when we arrived late Friday night they were burning the midnight oil trying to paint and clean.  But, it all came together for a great superhero party!

C learned a new Science experiment at the party!

C also made friends with a little blue-tailed lizard.

We were all still hanging out at their new house well into the night so they decided to move their grill over and have a cookout.  The fun part was that we had no real utensils to cook with.  The burgers were flipped with scissors and the fries in the oven were turned and served with a paint stir-stick! It all tasted good, though!

We got back home to TN yesterday in time to meet up with our small group from church for a dinner picnic in the park.

Needless to say, the kiddos were TIRED this morning when the alarm went off to get up for school!

Dog Park Days

These pictures are from an afternoon spent at the dog park last weekend. We love watching Sammy make dog friends and outrun all the big dogs!

Visiting Santa in August

Earlier this week, Daddy took the day off and we woke the kids up early to a surprise road trip!  We didn't tell them where we were going until after we had stopped for breakfast and were well on our way there.  We like to keep them guessing :)
We drove to Santa Claus, Indiana to visit Holiday World!  We love this little amusement park.  It is just the right size to be able to ride everything and not feel like you missed half the park.  Hubs even made the comment that he liked it better than Disneyworld (I know, I think that's blasphemy or close to it!).

The kids are with Mrs. Coch in this picture.  She and her family own Holiday World and the day we visited it was her birthday.  Can you believe she turned 81! She looks much younger than that to me.

The ride below was one of our favorites, The Sparkler.

Daddy and C on the Liberty Launch.  I think this ride is my personal favorite.

C is not too bad a driver!  I rode with AP and she had to stand up on top of the pedal and put all her weight into it just to get the car to move!

We watched a show with performing divers that was really neat.  You can see one diver set herself on fire before jumping in!

Goodbye, Santa!  See ya at our house in December!
