We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time & miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands. ~Kristi Larson~

Today I Ran For Adam
Last week I found out that the son of my ex-supervisor/mentor/babysitting employer has cancer. He is ten years old. So today I ran for Adam. If he can fight cancer then I can run a half marathon, not that the two even compare, but that was my mantra today. Keep fighting Adam!

It's a Beautiful Day
Today has been a beautiful weather kind of day. We had our company "retreat" for the first part of the day. Nothing like hearing service award speeches in a barn for 2 hours! But even that didn't take away from the gorgeous weather. Here are a few pics of the kiddos in our backyard this afternoon:
This has been a crazy busy week for us. Monday was C's actual birthday. We had family over for pizza and blue/green cupcakes. I love this pic of AP watching for everyone to get here.
AP loves to shoot a little pool herself :) Then Tuesday we had a soccer game. Hubs left to go out of town on Monday night, which left me to coach the game and keep up with AP! Thankfully, one of my coworkers volunteered to come help out and keep up with the pumpkin.
C requested blue cupcakes, but when you add blue to yellow cake mix you get greenish teal cupcakes. He liked them so that's all that matters :)
C got even more presents (we still haven't opened the presents from their party last Saturday!). Now that we have a room in our house that is a dedicated playroom, we seem to be attracting large toys. C got a pool table from aunt and uncle. He was so excited as they were unloading it from uncle's truck.I love this pic of AP and her Boompa. She is all about her Boompa.AP loves to shoot a little pool herself :) Then Tuesday we had a soccer game. Tuesday and Wednesday night I helped my cousin out with a senior project into the early morning hours. I was super tired, but got this great picture for my dining room that I had been eyeing in return! I think it was well worth it.
Last night hubs and I went downtown to pick up our race numbers for the half marathon tomorrow! We had debated whether or not to still run b/c we have not had the time to get in the long runs that we need for training. But we decided to go ahead, even if we have to stop and walk some.

Birthday Babies
Saturday was the big birthday party day. We were excited that so many of their friends came to celebrate. We filled the jump place with about 30 squealing kiddos. Everyone seemed to have a great time. There were so many presents that we didn't even get to them all (and still haven't). That was even after I told all the guests to just come celebrate and not bring presents, I guess nobody takes you seriously when you say things like that. Poor C went to another friend's party after his. He was so exhausted after both parties that he just asked to go to bed instead of having dinner. We had lots of fun with our family in town and were sad to see them go today. Here are a few pics of the party. Tomorrow is C's actual birthday. The celebration continues!

Fighting With Company
Pillow Fighting!Nanna and G got here safe and sound. We had a late b-day dinner for Nanna.
And on a side note, how weird is it that hubs and I were jarred from our sleep last night by an earthquake?!? in middle Tennessee, who knew that could happen?

Now That She's Two
Apparently once you turn two, you suddenly have enough hair for your first pigtails!
And you peepee in the potty just because you want to! Way to be such a big girl, AP.
And Happy Birthday to Nanna! We can't wait to see Nanna, her friend G, my sister R, her boyfriend N, and Baby S tomorrow. They are all coming to spend the weekend with us for the kiddos shared birthday party on Saturday. It will be a fun weekend, we also hope to finish up our new fence. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to share.

Soccer Dude
Saturday was our 2nd game of the soccer season. Our little players did so good! They were taking the ball away from the other team like crazy. C was hanging right in there with them and never whined at all. That is a great accomplishment for him. He had a lot of fun. We had pictures before the game and it was so cold out. Where is the spring weather?

Pics From Pumpkin's Special Day
As you can see in the pics, AP had a fun birthday. She was out in the driveway playing with her new grocery cart when balloons from Nanna were delivered. She had fun with the balloons...for a few minutes. Then the weight came off and they floated away. She told everyone that night that she had "boons sky" (ballons in the sky). We celebrated at Chili's with friends and family. I was excited about the wagon with seats and seatbelts, I've been eyeing those for the zoo this summer. Her actual party is next weekend. She and her brother are having a party together since their b'days are 10 days apart. We ended the night with a little excitement. We got side swiped on our way home and the car that hit us sped off! It made me so mad, more that they got away with it, than the actual damage. The last pics of the kiddos in the carseats were an attempt to keep them entertained while the policeman was writing up the report. The important thing is no one was hurt, except for our poor van door.

On Being A Southern Woman
I spent yesterday at the Southern Womens Show in Nashville. I did not take my camera, but if I did you would see lots of pictures of dips made from powder, all things embroidered, purses, gutter genies, and scantily clad firemen. Apparently, these are the things the we Southern women enjoy. Actually, I did enjoy myself. I got a free massage, sampled three different kinds of ice cream, and saw firemen helping out for a good cause. Not a bad day. However, I think I stayed gone a little too long. Hubs made dinner and when momma is not there to help out, this is the result. And......TODAY IS AP'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made birthday lollipops last night for her to share with her friends at the babysitter's house. I think they turned out pretty cute. I'll share more of her birthday later.

Shaking the Mondayness
Today was really a Monday. I was frustrated at work and C had a rough day at school. So, in an effort to shake our Mondayness, we headed out to spend the afternoon in the park. It was a perfect weather kind of day.
It worked! The rest of our Monday was much better!

Long Time No Blog
Life has been busy around here. We have finally unpacked the last of the boxes. I thought they would never end! I want to mention here that we had the world's best realtor (even though she doesn't read this). She went above and beyond in so may ways. On our closing day she gave us a gift (a gift cert to Outback and a crystal water pitcher and set of glasses) and had pizza delivered to our new house that afternoon while we were painting! Not to mention that she sold our house in 10 days in this market! She really was wonderful.
It was beautiful weather here today in our neck of the woods. Here are a few pics of my boys enjoying their new backyard:
So Friday night, we used our Outback card and met Boompa and Baba for dinner.
Saturday morning was the baby shower that I helped host and make decorations for. I forgot to take my camera, but I'm sure I'll get some pics from friends. There were several old high school friends there and it was nice to reconnect.
Saturday afternoon was our first soccer game. It was a marked improvement from last year, but we still lost by several goals (even though there is no official score). C did get a little upset once because he got dirty :) He kicked the ball more during the game than he did the whole last season!
