Yesterday was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. C had a friend over for a little while in the afternoon and I had fun taking pictures of them. What I have no pictures of is their "band practice". These two think that they have started a band :) J was on drums and C was on the tambourine when I peeked in on them. I asked C what the name of the band was and he said "Rock On Baby!"
We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time & miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands. ~Kristi Larson~

Cannonball!
Yesterday was a pretty laid back day around here. In the morning we went with my future cousin-in-law to look at some clearance granite to make a backsplash in our kitchen. I found some that I LOVE that has little specks of copper in it. I can't wait to tie in actual copper tiles with it. I will be able to get all the granite that I need for our kitchen for $45!
Today was the first actual leave-your-kid-by-himself day at kindergarten. Here we are ready to leave the house bright. and. early. We were actually early today! If you know me, then you know that was no small feat.
Three hours later AP and I were back in line to pick C up. This will be our scenery twice a day for quite a while.
After we picked brother up we went swimming with our friends for a little while. The kiddos wanted me to take pictures of them jumping.
We are all sufficiently worn out from the early rising and the swimming. The kiddos are napping like champions right now. After naptime, they have another treat in store today. My cousin and his fiance are taking them to Chuck E Cheese!!

Goodbye to Myself
Today the kiddos and I went back to my old office for a Farewell Party for me! It is sort of surreal to go to your own goodbye party. I picked our lunch location and chose Chik Fil A so the kiddos could go run wild while I chatted with my coworkers. After lunch we went back to the office and there was yummy strawberry cake and even parting gifts! I will miss my coworkers. It is an honor and a blessing to be able to devote myself full time to these kiddos.

First Day of K!
Today was the BIG day! In reality, it was a BIG thirty minutes rather than a day, but exciting nonetheless. I snapped a pic of C praying at breakfast. A great way to start the day- breakfast of champions and a chat with Big Guy :)

Then we took random pictures outside before we all four loaded up to drive about a hundred yards. Seriously, you can see the school from our front door. We haven't figured out a good way to walk there, though, because you would either have to cut through a few yards (that belong to people we don't know and one has a reputation of really not liking kids walking in their yard) or walk on the street that has no shoulder and is really busy. So for now we will continue to drive the hundred yards.
Then C struck a little pose right outside the school.
We found his classroom and met his teacher who was super nice. I think that she and I will get along really well. C was given instructions on how to get his little school box in order while Hubs and I filled out some paperwork.
Then it was over, just as quick as it started! C doesn't go back again this week until Thursday. We spent some time this afternoon reading through his binder and talking about the classroom rules. I am only allowed to walk him to his classroom one more time and then he has to do it by himself. Honestly, I cannot imagine him making it all the way there without getting lost, but I guess all parents feel that way?

New Pools, Date Nights, and Baby Showers Oh My!
Saturday night Boompa and Baba kept the kiddos overnight. Hubs and I had a date night! It's been a while since we've done that. We had a great dinner at PF Changs and then went to Zanies, a comedy club in Nashville.
Does anyone remember Stuart from Mad TV?

That's who the comedian was and he was pretty funny! We got home kinda late for us old folks. Then we got up bright and early to make food for people who are living in Tent City in Nashville. After church we shared lunch with them and our SS class sent lots of food back with them.
Then this afternoon I hosted (well not really hosted, just opened my house, the food was a shared effort :) a baby shower for one of my friends who will be welcoming a baby boy in just a few weeks!
