8 Years with Lil C

This past Friday, August 31, marked 8 years since we were declared the parents of the cutest baby boy in the Kuibyshev orphanage in the middle of Siberia!

There are too many great things about C to possibly list them all, but some of my favorites are his tender heart and the way he unashamedly shares his feelings, his love of books and reading, his fascination with science and nature, his honesty, his love for God, his desire for all things to be fair, and his love for his family.

I know it's cliche, but I feel like I blinked and we went from this little guy...

to this little guy who will be as tall as his mommy very soon.

Given the opportunity to do anything he wanted to celebrate his special day, he chose to "go to the bookstore and buy a new science book then go eat Mexican."  Good books and good food are necessities :)

Nanna took us to see "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" that afternoon.  It was a really cute movie.

Then we headed over to the bookstore to browse the Science books.

Eureka!  We found it!

And then C spent 90% of the time we were in the Mexican restaurant reading his new book :)

Happy Adoption Day to my tender-hearted future scientist!!
Mommy and Daddy are so proud to be your parents!
